example: George became very wary of his surroundings after his car was broken into the night before.
perishable - (especially of food) likely to decay or go bad quickly.
example: We should have known better than to get all of those fruits and vegetables at the Farmer's Market last weekend. Since they are perishable, they have already started growing mold.
rummage - search untidily through an area or container.
example: My little brother lost my house key somewhere in the living room. It was so small so we had to rummage through all the drawers and cabinets in order to find it.
